    Whether you are the parent of a talented athlete or a coach who works every day with youth athletes, you know how important it is for athletes today to have an edge. They need an edge in endurance, speed, strength, agility, and mental toughness. The competition for making the varsity team, earning a starting position, and being recruited for college teams and scholarships is intense. And it is only getting more so.

    At the same time many schools do not provide proper, best-practice training for their athletes. Athletes end up in the weight room, competing with each other over who can do the most reps or lift the most weight.They don’t learn proper form and end up injuring themselves. Even if they manage to stay healthy, this kind of macho, push-it-to-the-limits training doesn’t do anything for the athletes speed, conditioning, or performance.

    Great benefits can be derived by taking an athlete out of his or her core sport and providing training in the fundamentals of conditioning, core strength, agility, endurance, and mental toughness.That’s where I come in and, now, that’s where you come in, too. You don’t even need to have played a specific sport to be able to help. For instance, I don’t know how to play tennis-but I work with many elite youth tennis players to help them become faster, stronger, and better conditioned on the court. That’s the power of this program! It isolates the routines that make a difference in speed, strength, endurance, and mental toughness-the keys that apply to athlete in any situation.

    This program is all about what it really takes to train talented athletes to get an edge on the field. It includes workout routines, specific exercises, nutritional guidance, and resources for success off the field.

    I’ve been in the fitness industry for a little over 15 years, and for the past 9 years I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide variety of very talented athletes from just about every sport you can think of (football, soccer, baseball, volleyball, golf, lacrosse, tennis, quad racers, BMX racers, triathletes, swimmers, horse jockeys). Most come to me for improvements in speed, agility, reaction, plyo-training, trimming down, core strength, building more lean muscle mass, military prep, and the list goes on.

    After becoming a personal trainer, I made a personal commitment that from day one I would deliver meaningful workouts to all of my clients. I vowed that I would not give out any fitness advice to any one if I knew very little about the subject. After watching and listening to a few trainers in the industry, I quickly learned that your clients believe all that you tell them, so it better be legit information/advice or else you will make a bad name for yourself. I’ve always kept it simple and stuck with what I knew…………
