    In 2000, the Asian American Diabetes Initiative (AADI) was founded at Joslin Diabetes Center, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. For more than a decade, the AADI has successfully raised diabetes awareness within the Asian American community in the US and Asia through effectively implement culturally-relevant research, clinical care, community outreach and education within this diverse population. The AADI continues to reach out to different Asian American communities, offering health screenings and education on healthy living for diabetes prevention and management.     This video is recorded for the “Healthy Living for All Seasons”, a one year series of community health program funded by Tufts Health Plan Foundation. This program was offered to elderly Asians with, or at risk of diabetes, the opportunity to take part in educational workshops and seminars focusing on exercise, healthy eating, and prevention of diabetes complications.

    In this clip, Ka Hei Karen Lau, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at AADI, explained what aerobic exercises are and shared ways to achieve the recommended activity goal. This presentation was conducted in Cantonese.
