Glycolysis is a 10 step common pathway for aerobic and anaerobic respiration which takes place in cytoplasm. It yields 2 ATPs, 2 NADH2 and 2 pyruvic acid molecules.
EMP stands for Embden , Mayerhoff and Parnas which are 3 scientists who worked on glycolysis.
Glycolysis is the first major step in carbohydrate metabolism that helps to initiate the process of cellular respiration.This lecture explains about the Glycolysis pathway step by step with the involvement of enzymes that will convert Glucose into pyruvate in the cytosol of every living cell.
