    Hello and thank you for visiting our site.

    My name is Jonathan Cooke and I’m a personal trainer at Trillium Fitness. I’m also a registered physiotherapist with the Health Professions Council and a Chartered Physiotherapist.

    Trillium Fitness started because a growing number of our patients openly talked to us about wanting to pursue higher health and fitness goals.

    They would indicate objectives like wanting to lose weight, gain muscle or tone, recover from injury, or generally wanting to feel like they had more energy each day.

    But what we kept hearing was that each person felt a little lost as to how to exercise, or what to eat to achieve their goals.

    Many of the people we talked with cycled through several different types of exercise and ways of eating, but none felt completely confident in their health or fitness strategies.

    What we have to understand is that each person has his or her unique body type. What works really well for one individual can have a completely opposite effect on another.

    It’s this very reason why following somebody else’s exercise programme or nutrition plan can easily slow or prevent your progress.

    The approach behind our personal training is to find out what works best for you and your unique body type.

    We place equal importance on nutrition as we do exercise and we use a number of different systems to understand what works best for you, so we can ultimately achieve your goals in the fastest time possible.

    Importantly, we bring the same professional approach as personal trainers as we do as health professionals. We remain as objective as possible in our work to understand not if you’re making progress, but how much progress is being made.

    All of our exercise and nutrition plans are formally structured so they are easy to follow, and we review your progress each week to help you remain as consistent as possible and stay motivated.

    Despite the traditional approach of personal training, our objective is not to keep working with you. It is to educate you and teach you about important elements of exercise and nutrition so that you may gain the confidence to integrate what we practise together, but independently.
