    Here is a tip to avoid overtraining called perceived rate of exertion in Kinesiology terms- meaning you should be able to talk or sing while on a long slow distance endurance base training run- to avoid overtraining and undertraining- 3-4 days a week regularly- start at this rate brisk walk- work up to a slow jog once trained- every 3 weeks or so- add another 5-10 minutes on to your run until you are running at this same perceived pace level for an hour solid- it will take 3-6 mos. but you can go from unfit to athletic in no time- consistency is essential- and make sure you have medical clearance first to stress yourself.
